Biography Steven Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California. His father, Abdulfattah Jandali, was a Syrian political science professor, and his mother, Joanne Schieble, worked as a speech therapist. While Jobs was always an intelligent and innovative thinker, his youth was riddled with frustrations over formal schooling. While Jobs went to Homestead High School in 1971, he was met to his future partner, Steve Wozniak, thank to Wozniak s friends. Wozniak was attending the University of California, Berkeley, at the time. In an interview, Wozniak (2007) said: We both loved electronics and the way we used to hook up digital chips. After finishing high school, Steven Jobs went to Reed College in Portland, Oregon and He quitted college after six months and spent the next 18 months to learn several design classes at the school. In 1974, Jobs worked as a video game developer with Atari. Several months later he quitted his job to go to India (Romain, M. 2006). After that, April 1 , 1976, Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne, and Steve Wozniak established Apple technology company. He worked in his company within nine years. Jobs left Apple in 1985 to establish NeXT, Inc which was a new hardware and software company. The following year Jobs bought an animation studio from George Lucas, which later named Pixar Animation Studios. Believing in Pixar s potential, Jobs invested 50 million dollars of his own money in this company.
